The only competition of its kind on the planet!
Yes, the ”Third Annual screentrade Popcorn Challenge” welcomed in the 85th Annual Coast Guard Festival on Saturday, July 25 in Grand Haven, MI – a beach community on the shores of Lake Michigan. Each year, the vendor participants increase in number, giving both townies and tourists more choices to rate and decide which popcorn-related products are their favorites.
And, as screentrade readers already know, this event remains a vehicle to help bolster the Cinema industry by reminding movie-goers that eating popcorn is always better done at the cinema. With summer residents and tourists hailing from many areas of the country, we surely trust this message to be accepted and widely distributed. In 2010, we will be raising the bar by making the Challenge international and will be including wider judging criteria.
